king david Ps 91:7

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

Its very easy to be afriad when you see teh swine flu, you see students taking their lives, you see so many people in the hospital and etc. Its easy to paranoid and worry. But for christians, dont worry. remember Ps 91:7

we all know how scary 1000 people dying looks like..Ie: Lord Of The Rings..
But we who are saved, have Jesus who has defeated Death. He was the slain lamb who's blood was smeared on the doorpost of the children of Israel's door in Egypt. And because He has already died for us, none of us has to die. Amen!

You may be surprised at this.

The old testament is a very somber and harsh testament to read as opposed to the new testament. The word "gospel" is originally translated as "good news" because it bears the good news of Jesus. When we read it, we discover Jesus and His love.
So why then is the old Testament(OT) in the gospel since its so harsh and Jesus isnt alive at that time?
Because the old Testament was by God the Father. As any lovng Father, He loves to talk about His Jesus. So as we dig deep into the Gospel, we will learn that alot of things that God has made the children of Israel go through/do reflects Jesus. Its a symbol or representative of Jesus.
The OT also prophesies Jesus coming.
As my pastor would say, study the New Testament (NT) first then go down to OT because in NT, we learn of Jesus and in OT, we will learn to recognise Him in the midst.
Example? As Jesus died for our sins and redeemed us from death, the children of Israel were spared from having hteir 1st born killed whent hey killed a lamb and smeared its blood on the doorpost of he house. So that day, the lambs died on behalf of hte children of israel while hte egyptians had to grief for al their 1st borns dying.
And when the children of israel went out into the desert and God taught them to give offerings to God to clear their sins every year. As a child of Israel comes with his unblemished (perfect) lamb, he would place his hand ont he lamb's head (symbolising placing of sins unto the lamb) and the lamb will be slain and burnt and chopped up etc and the smoke of the offering will raise to heaven.
Jesus is our lamb who saved us from our sins once and for all.

Another example. Noah's ark. Noah was made to build a big ark to contain his family and the pair of animals and save them from the flood. The ark is Jesus.
Jesus was made man to save us and we who believe will have Him in us and us in Him. When God The Father sees us (when we go to see Him) He will see Jesus instead.
So in Jesus, we are safe from the flood and all other forms of troubles and tribulations because we are in Him as Noah and family was in the ark.
The wood was chopped and nailed together and the whole ark was covered with tar to make it waterproof. So no evil shall flow in.
The wood used for the ark is cypress wood that is known for its hardiness. It does not decay easily. Like how Jesus is perfect and not sinful.
Note also that God spoke to Noah only but his whole family was saved. Likewise for us. our families will turn to God. I claim that.

How great is my God. :)

God Bless
